SPECIAL RELEASE

Montreal, September 19, 2008 - Natcan Investment Management confirms the following recent additions to its management team:

• Donald Couture became Vice President National Sales, Institutional Business Development (12/07). Mr Couture has joined our distribution team with twelve years of experience in the finance industry, of which five were spent as Manulife Financial & Nalaco’s regional pension manager and pension account executive, and four as Franklin Templeton Investments’ vice president, Institutional Investment Services. In addition to bachelor’s degrees in actuarial sciences and business administration, Donald has cumulated the following professional designations: CFA, ASA, CIM, and FLMI.
• Paul Wong joined Natcan Investment Management as Vice President for Canadian Equities, specializing in the energy and resource sectors (01/2008). Mr Wong has over 20 years of experience in the investment industry, which he acquired working as a research analyst, portfolio and fund manager, as well as proprietary trader. A CFA charterholder, he leads the management of our Canadian Growth Equity strategy from our Toronto office.
• Hugo Sarkisian - Quantitative Analyst, Fixed Income (02/2008). Mr Sarkisian acquired extensive experience as an analyst in the industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in financial mathematics.
• Michel Falk was appointed Chief Investment Officer and member of the board of directors (09/2008). Mr Falk’s 25 years of experience in portfolio management will certainly be put to good use at Natcan where he will be responsible for ensuring the best possible returns given acceptable levels of active portfolio risk. Before joining Natcan, Mr Falk worked as National Bank Financial’s chief investment officer.
  

Three of our professionals were promoted at the beginning of the year:

• Marc-André Lewis was appointed Senior Vice President, Fixed Income. Mr Lewis holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris, VI). He had filled the role of vice president, Fixed income since November 2005, and has over seven years’ experience in fixed-income management.
• Leadership of the small-cap equity team was entrusted to Christian Cyr, previously vice-president of the team. Mr Cyr joined Natcan in 2000; he has cumulated over 12 years of experience in the investment industry. He has graduated from Université Laval with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, and is a CFA charterholder.
• Daniel Doedel was promoted to Investment Analyst, Fixed Income at the beginning of 2008. Prior to joining the firm in April 2007, Mr Doedel gained experience as a financial and market risk analyst, bond settlements, contracts and transaction agent, and independent equity trader. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
