In March, the Social Investment Organization published its biennial report on changes in socially responsible investment in Canada (which is available in the Recommended Reading section on our website). Among the highlights, let us mention the considerable rise in total assets managed according to socially responsible guidelines and a marked increase in the response rate to the questionnaire, which could indicate that the data collected more accurately reflects reality. Let us also point out that the data is as at June 30, 2008, before the worst of the subsequent crisis. According to several experts, interest in SRI is likely to grow further once the storm has subsided.
